AESEA Joins Zhongshan Girls High School to Host Indonesian Education Delegation, Spotlighting the KidWind Competition and STEAM Education

Together with the Taipei City STEAM and New Technology Development Office and Zhongshan Girls High School, AESEA hosted a high-profile delegation from Indonesia's BINUS University and the chairpersons of 25 prominent educational foundations, accompanied by more than ten major media outlets — a testament to the international reach of Taiwan-Indonesia educational exchange.

The event took place on August 20 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Taipei Municipal Zhongshan Girls High School, focusing on STEAM education and the promotion of the KidWind Wind Energy Asia League. Distinguished guests included AESEA Chairman Professor Chou Chien-heng; Zhongshan Girls High School Principal Chang Yun-fen (who also serves as Director of the STEAM Office); Section Chief Tseng Po-chi of the Taipei City Department of Education; BINUS CEO Bernard Gunawan; and Vice Rector Harjanto Prabowo.

Chairman Chou introduced the delegation to the KidWind Wind Energy Asia League, an international student competition that combines scientific inquiry with renewable energy applications, encouraging students to design wind power models and develop innovative, sustainability-minded thinking. He warmly invited Indonesian teachers and students to take part in the Asian competition on November 1-2, 2025, in hopes of deepening international exchange. Principal Chang shared Zhongshan Girls High School's innovative experience with cross-disciplinary STEAM curricula, showcasing Taipei's achievements in advancing technology education.

During the roundtable, the two sides held in-depth exchanges on STEAM education models and future cooperation, laying the foundation for a long-term partnership. The Indonesian delegation — comprising the chairpersons of 25 educational foundations along with major media outlets such as Kompas and Tempo — represents a broad cross-section of Indonesia's education and media sectors, with far-reaching influence. The visit not only raised the international profile of AESEA and the KidWind competition, but also opened a new chapter in Taiwan-Indonesia educational cooperation.
