Taiwan Shines Again! Double World Championship at the KidWind 2025 World Championship!
Team Taiwan competed at the KidWind World Championship held May 18–21, 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, delivering a dazzling performance and capturing the elementary and high school division world championships among multiple major awards. The KidWind Challenge is organized by the US nonprofit KidWind with support from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) under the US Department of Energy. The competition encourages students to design and build small wind turbines and solar power systems, cultivating awareness of clean energy and climate change. The KidWind Challenge is vast in scale, attracting hundreds of top student teams from around the world each year. This year's World Championship gathered 131 teams and nearly 500 students from 26 US states, Taiwan, and Mexico.
Team Taiwan rose to prominence in the KidWind Challenge in Asia, organized by AESEA, and advanced to this year's World Championship. Through relentless effort, the Taiwanese teams demonstrated exceptional skill and team spirit, capturing the elementary and high school division world titles as well as the high school division Judges' Award — making Taiwan the biggest winner of this year's event. These results underscore Taiwan's competitiveness in green-energy education and hands-on engineering, and showcase Taiwanese students' passionate commitment to and inventive talent for green-energy technology. This recognition on the international stage not only brings honor to the nation, but will also inspire more elementary and secondary students in Taiwan to explore wind, solar, and other renewable-energy knowledge and applications, advancing the cultivation of future green-energy talent across academia and industry.
