Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners
Background
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners P/S (CIP) was founded in 2012 by senior executives from the energy industry together with PensionDanmark, one of Denmark's largest pension funds. CIP is a fund management company focused on energy infrastructure, with core business areas spanning offshore wind, onshore wind, solar power, biomass, energy transmission and distribution, and energy storage. CIP and its wind farm projects maintain offices across Europe, Asia, the Americas, Australia, and Taiwan. CIP manages 12 funds totaling approximately EUR 32 billion, backed by 180 international institutional investors from the Nordics, continental Europe, the UK, the Americas, Asia, and Australia, as well as multilateral organizations such as the EIB.
CIP in Taiwan
CIP entered Taiwan in 2017. In 2024, it successively completed the Changfang and Xidao Offshore Wind Farm (600 MW) off the coast of Changhua, and the Zhong Neng Offshore Wind Farm (300 MW), a joint venture with China Steel Corporation — together supplying clean energy to more than one million Taiwanese households. CIP is also an active participant in Taiwan's Phase 3 offshore wind development: its Fengmiao Wind Farm won a 500 MW allocation with first priority in the March 2022 Round 3-1 auction, and has signed long-term power purchase agreements with six major Taiwanese and American corporations, making it the most steadily progressing project in the Phase 3 zonal development. These achievements not only advance Taiwan's energy transition, but also drive participation from local supply chains and financial institutions, strengthening Taiwan's competitiveness in green energy.
Contributions to Education in Taiwan
CIP is equally committed to talent development and green-energy education. In 2025, CIP generously sponsored the KidWind Challenge in Asia, supporting Taiwanese students in wind energy design competitions and advancing environmental education. CIP has built green-energy environmental education programs for all ages — from temple-plaza information sessions and interactive booths to wind-science workshops for elementary schools and women-in-energy talks for senior and vocational high schools — promoting green energy on every front. In 2023, it launched a partnership with the Coast Guard Administration's Central Branch, adopting the Wuqi Ocean Station and establishing an offshore wind knowledge zone to deepen green-energy environmental education. CIP has also partnered with local universities and colleges to establish offshore wind industry-academia collaboration programs, bringing real-world industry experience into the classroom. With supply-chain professionals teaching in person, young students can transition seamlessly into the wind power industry and improve their future employment prospects.
